A new and fascinating museum As far back as 1894, the far-sighted merchant Erik Fundin founded Sweden's first local museum. Thanks to the early beginning of collecting, the museum today houses an outstanding exhibition, both in quality and in quantity, showing the lives of the Sami people, the farmers and the miners during the past 1000 years. The way in which the exhibits are presented makes the encounter of the Härjedalen inhabitants' culture an unforgettable and exciting experience. Fornminnesparken This outdoor museum, situated next to the new museum, displays a variety of old traditional log buildings from the region, with exhibitions and activities. Emil NäsvallSculptures The works of Härjedalens most famous sculptor are displayed at a special exhibition. Lekstugan - a mountain pasture for children Creep through the 'secret tunnel' to the mountain pasture, discover and experience all the fascinating things that it can offer.
